Privacy Statement

PeopleGuru is dedicated to safeguarding the privacy and security of personal data processed to provide services to our Clients. We receive personal data from our Clients concerning their current, prospective, and former employees, as well as employee dependents and family members, as necessary to administer benefits. This Privacy Statement elucidates our practices regarding the personal data we receive from our Clients as a Human Capital Management software provider and payroll processor.

PeopleGuru will collect and process your personal data solely as instructed or permitted by our Client (your employer or prospective employer) or by you. We uphold appropriate security measures to protect your information.

Your personal data may be disclosed to your employer and other entities as instructed by your employer. We may also disclose your personal data to our affiliates and third-party processors to fulfill the services requested by you and your employer. These entities are contractually obligated to restrict the use of your personal data to necessary service provisions. Additionally, we will disclose personal data as required by law, such as in response to a subpoena, including to law enforcement agencies and courts in the United States and other countries where we operate.

For Registered PeopleGuru IOS and Android Users: If your PeopleGuru Mobile account remains inactive for over 365 days, your login credentials will be suspended and subsequently your account will be deleted after 90 days following account suspension. To expedite your account deletion, please contact your Human Resources administrator.

Should you have inquiries regarding your privacy rights, please reach out to your employer’s human resources department.

Data Transfers

With authorization from your employer, PeopleGuru will transfer personal data pertaining to individuals of the United States (and/or elsewhere) to our Third-Party Service Provider Websites, Services, and Resources worldwide, in accordance with applicable data protection laws. We will only transfer personal data concerning individuals as permitted by the PeopleGuru Privacy Code. Sensitive Personal Data

In the normal course of business, PeopleGuru processes sensitive personal data on behalf of your employer, such as social security numbers. We have implemented reasonable technical, physical, and administrative safeguards to protect sensitive personal data from unlawful use and unauthorized disclosure. All PeopleGuru associates are required to adhere to these established procedures, both online and offline. Access to sensitive personal data is restricted to those associates who require such access to perform tasks for PeopleGuru. PeopleGuru will only disclose sensitive personal data to service providers, auditors, and/or advisors who are legally or contractually obligated to protect them or as required or permitted by law.

California Consumer Rights

If you are a California resident you may make the following requests, subject to applicable law:

  • Right to Access and Know — You may request that we disclose to you the following information covering the 12 months preceding your request:
    • The categories of Personal Data we collected about you and the categories of sources from which we collected such Personal Data;
    • The specific pieces of Personal Data we collected about you;
    • The business or commercial purpose for collecting or sharing Personal Data about you;
    • The categories of Personal Data about you that we shared (as defined under the applicable privacy law) and the categories of third parties with whom we shared such Personal Data; and
    • The categories of Personal Data about you that we otherwise disclosed, and the categories of third parties to whom we disclosed such Personal Data (if applicable).
  • Right to Request Correction of your Personal Data — You may request to correct inaccuracies in your Personal Data;
  • Right to Request Deletion of your Personal Data — You may request to have your Personal Data deleted; and
  • Right to Opt-out of Sharing for Cross-Context Behavioral Advertising — You may request to opt out of the “sharing” of your Personal Data for purposes of cross-context behavioral advertising.

We will not unlawfully discriminate against you for exercising your rights under the CCPA.

How to submit a Privacy or Account Deletion Request

As an employee or prospective employee of a PeopleGuru Client, please reach out directly to them for more information regarding the collection and processing of your personal data or to exercise your data privacy rights, such as full or partial deletion of your personal data.

You may also make a privacy or account deletion request with PeopleGuru, by emailing us at [email protected]. We will verify and respond to your request consistent with applicable law, taking into account the type and sensitivity of the Personal Data subject to the request. We may need to request additional Personal Data from you, such as your name and email address, in order to verify your identity and protect against fraudulent requests. If you maintain a password-protected account with us, we may verify your identity through our existing authentication practices for your account and require you to re-authenticate yourself before disclosing or deleting your Personal Data. If you make a request to delete, we may ask you to confirm your request before we delete your Personal Data.

Anti-Money Laundering

If your employer has opted to receive services such as money movement services from PeopleGuru, we may be obligated by applicable laws to process Client employee data for monitoring and other controls necessary to safeguard the security and integrity of financial transactions. This includes due diligence, such as verifying the identity of the individual and their eligibility to receive products or services, such as verifying employment or account status.
